If you are really serious about your weight loss goals, you most likely spend a lot of time searching the internet for different weight loss programs and diets. I do. And in order for us to create a system that really works, it is imperative to feel empowered that what you are doing is right. Recently, I purchased one of the most popular diet guides around – The Dieter's Guide to Successful Self Coaching.

In This weight loss program, you will:

  • Learn the ten principles of effective nutritional planning and self coaching.
  • Learn how to easily master the power of self regulation and self discipline.
  • Create a customized nutrition program that works for you.

Specified Diet Outline – Not What I was expecting...

This weight loss program has quite a solid reputation for getting people motivated to take action. To be honest with you though, I didn't find the menu planning to be very specific.

Let’s face it, there’s no diet guide that is going to be the end all be all to what we know about the subject, right? The Dieter's Guide To Successful Self Coaching, for all it's good points, does not give you a specific diet that you can simply print and post on your fridge. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that the author focuses on being a guide to helping you select the menu choices that are custom tailored to your needs, it's just that I am so used to authors telling me exactly what to eat and how much.

Becoming Your Own Coach

Now, there is one thing that clearly makes this diet the obvious winner for dedicated dieters and that is the step by step process of becoming your own coach so that you can feel confident and empowered that you are doing nutrition correctly. Let’s face it, we can print out a diet from a fitness book or off the internet, but it is the customization of the diet plan that really makes this program work. Even if you already have hundreds of diet books, this diet guide utilizes the information you have already learned, rather than override it is false or wrong.

And that’s where The Dieter's Guide really stands out from other diets. You will get all the facts about how to successfully master your own fitness and nutrition program. And, best of all, the program empowers you with techniques for self mastery that is really cutting edge. This feature, alone, has saved me tons of time by telling me how specifically to modify what I am currently doing in order to receive the benefit for my hard work and dieting efforts.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • This diet lays out the ten principles effective nutritional planning and self coaching. It has detailed worksheets for you to follow along through the self coaching process, saving you time in creating your own self coaching system. This feature alone makes it a steal at any price, as none of us want to waste our valuable time.

  • The eBook teaches you how to master the power of self regulation, which in my opinion has made all the difference for me in my nutrition plan being a success.

  • A customized nutrition plan that works for you. My favorite part was once I was done creating the plan, as mentioned in the eBook; Nancy offered to review my plan. I emailed it to her and she gave me great feedback on how to make it even better. She actually tells you to email her!

Cons:
  • Diet outlines are vague. Don't expect a detailed nutrition plan that you can print and post on your fridge. You will have to do the work in order to customize it to fit your specific needs.


 My Conclusion

While this dieting guide isn’t perfect, it is easy to see why it’s such a popular diet guide to help empower you to be your own coach. I like the step by step process of taking action after reading each chapter, through the worksheets. Nancy also makes sure we are holding ourselves accountable and paints a clear picture as to what that looks like. Coming from an expert in the fitness industry, I really appreciate how she inspires me to be the expert and take on the responsibility of my own nutrition plan. If I were to hire her for one on one coaching it would cost me almost $1,000 so I am so glad that for less than the price of a personal training session, I was able to create a custom plan that helped me get in the best shape I have been in since I was in my 20's. 

If you've been struggling with your diet and are confused and frustrated by all the gurus out there telling you exactly what you need to eat, not to mention all the while not getting the results you want, then I highly recommend you order The Dieter's Guide To Successful Self Coaching. It is an easy to use guide that got me on my way to looking and feeling like a fitness expert, in control of my nutrition.
